Day 5
Leaving Rome to head to Sorrento via the high speed train. Sitting in business class - reminds me of the Shinkansen in Japan.
Sorrento is gorgeous, such a cute little town
Gnocchi with bacon and nuts, chicken in a lemon sauce, tomato salad at Enjoy the Little Things Bistro. Some of the best food I've ever had.
The coast
Woodworker in Sorrento with a shop full of beautiful inlaid wood
Went to dinner at Bagni Delfino on the water
(^^ Bagni Delfino is actually in the back)
Starters: burrata, tuna tartare, bruschetta.
The tuna was insane, burrata and tomatoes has been a consistent hitter all week.
Mains: seafood pasta, ravioli with ricotta. Common theme of the trip but again, some of the best food I've had in my life. Between this and Little Things, this wins (for me)
Dessert was a gift from the restaurant, traditional lemon cake - a Sorrento staple
While at dinner we heard the procession for what I assume was the Stations of the Cross, got to see them parade through town.
Hotels on the ridge
Vesuvius and Naples from across the water
Bonus: cute Sorrento alleyways
