Day 11
Today we had our second tour of Tuscany. Unbeknownst to us we booked a wine tasting tour. We went to Montepulciano, Pienza, and Montalcino.
Starting in Montepulciano at a woman-owned winery famous for their Brunello.
I don't care for wine but Italian wine is unlike anything I've ever had. Also expensive as hell.
Scenic views of Tuscany in Piensa
A villa on the road from Piensa to Montalcino.
Post mid-day espresso face
The underground cellar and tunnels in the Ercolani wine shop
Some of the better wines we tried were Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva, Brunello and and a Rosé.
The Riserva and Vino Nobile, particularly one of the Nobile with 100% Sangiovese grapes were my favorites.
Florence at Sunset
Another Japanese dinner. The owner was so excited to speak in Japanese with me.
Her shop was adorable and she presented the food with origami.
